At Seneh Carpets we offer professional moth proofing and treatment service for your hand made rugs and carpets. We treat rugs with a mix of substances that will prevent future infestation, this treatment will last for up to one year. Moths and carpet beetles can cause extensive damage to your hand made rugs. Typically, they impact areas that are damp, dark and out of sight. To avoid expensive moth damage repair cost to your rugs, it is recommended that you have your rugs professionally cleaned every 3-5 years and regularly check your rugs under furniture where is not accessible to be hoovered regularly.
There are several signs that can be checked for signs of moths on your rugs.
- Sand like particles deep in the pile of your rug
- Bare spots in the pile of your woollen rug and or loose missing pile
- Eggs, larvae, cocoons, live moths, carpet beetles and other live bugs
If you detect any sign of moth infestation in your rug, you can bring it to us or call us to arrange collection for moth treatment. Once we have your pests infested rug in our workshop, we first inspect it for moth egg, larvae, live moth, etc. We then perform a treatment to terminate the pests. After that is completed your rug goes through a deep wash to clean and extract all dead insects from the rug. Finally, we spray the back and front of your rug with moth proofing substance which will change the taste of the wool fibres so the moths will not lay eggs within the pile, as mentioned above this treatment will last for up to one year.
